Tissue Tassel Garland Ideas

TISSUE TASSEL GARLAND IDEAS

Happy Monday!  Today  I am sharing some creative ways to display tissue tassels and tissue tassel garlands.

They are now very popular at events and parties and there are so many ways to display them at your celebration!  First if you need a set of tassels to create a garland or add them to balloons, feel free to stop by my shop below – HERE for TISSUE TASSELS

Now for some party inspiration and how to incorporate some stunning tissue tassels to your party!

Tissue Tassel garlands are most commonly displayed across a party table front or behind the table on a wall.

I love this layered affect on top of blank painted frames and over a mirror too.

If you are setting up your party display on a cabinet- drape them across your drawers or cupboard front too- just as stunning!

Tissue tassel hanging from balloons look amazing and create a dramatic statement at any event! Pair them with XL BALLOONS for real pop! These tissue tassel balloon streamers are trendy for brides too at the wedding reception or for a wedding photo shoot.

The look great draped across a fireplace mantel too if you are hosting your party at home and in your living room.  Love these mixed bright colors with the layered banner on top for a 5 year old’s party.  These mixed bright colors of tissue tassels are also perfect for a fiesta or cumpleaños, a rainbow party, a My Little Pony Party, or an art party.

Use them to crate a wall display or even cover a larger area and create photo backdrop area at your event!  Just drape several garlands in a row to cover a larger area, similar to below at this Paris themed party, shown on display along an outdoor fence! Whoa!  There is another idea- use them at an outdoor event and drape them along your backyard fence!

A tissue tassel garland makes a great additional to a baby nursery too as crib decor or anywhere in the nursery!

I hope this has inspired you to add some tissue tassels at your next event!  Subscribe to The Party Fetti Blog by email and get more wonderful party ideas via email as well has home decor, craft tutorials, easy DIY projects and so much more.

Deadpool Movie Treats

DEADPOOL CAKE POPS

funfetti-deadpool-cake-pops

We saw Deadpool this weekend and LOVED IT! Total adult superhero – or rather anti-superhero flick! I thought it would be perfect to share this great recipe for cake pops decorated as Deadpool. They would be so perfect if you host a watch party, when it comes out on video or Netflix streaming.  I sure the heck plan to watch it again and would absolutely munch on these!

And under the mask is some total cake goodness too. YUM!  Read on for the recipe.

CAKE INGREDIENTS
  • An 8 inch round cake from a boxed cake mix or make it from scratch with the following-
  • 7 oz/ 200g butter
  • 7 oz / 200g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 oz / 170g of self-rising flour
FROSTING INGREDIENTS:
  • 5 oz softened butter
  • 7 oz / 200g icing sugar (confectioners sugar)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ to 1 cup funfetti (1 cup for more color)
CAKE POPS INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 – 2 pounds of red candy melts (you will have some leftover)
  • Cake pop sticks (lollipop sticks)
  • Black and white fondant
  • Corn flour to dust
  • Vodka to clean (optional)
  • Water (to insert fondant onto cake pops)
CAKE RECIPE
  1. Line an 8 inch cake pan with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 350°F / 180°C.
  2. Make the cake according to the box mix instructions. Pour enough cake batter to the prepared cake pan (if there is any leftover batter, feel free to make cupcakes). Bake according to cake box instructions and let it cool completely.
  3. If you are making the cake from scratch – Cream the butter, sugar and salt together until fluffy using a handheld beater or mixer.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mix in between and mix in the vanilla as well.
  5. Sift the flour into a separate bowl. Add your sifted flour to the butter-sugar mix and mix it in gently in 2 batches. Mix until the flour is fully incorporated.
  6. Pour this mix into the prepared baking pan (9 inch round), and bake in the preheated oven until a cake tester/skewer inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
FROSTING RECIPE (makes approximately 1 ½ cups):
  1. Cream the butter with salt and vanilla (you could use a whisk for this since it’s a small amount of frosting, but alternatively you could use a hand held mixer as well). Add the sifted icing sugar, spoonfuls at a time and whisk it in. Once all the sugar has been added, whisk vigorously until light and fluffy. Set aside.
CAKE POPS RECIPE:
  1. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl. Add the funfetti to the cake crumbs. Add about 1 cup of the frosting and incorporate it well into the crumbled cake using a spoon or your hands. If this mix sticks together when squeezed in your palm, then you don’t need to add any more frosting. If the mix is still dry however, add more frosting and mix it in.
  2. Using a small scoop, portion out the cake pops and roll each one into a ball, or an egg shape. Do this gently without squeezing too hard. Place these on a lined baking tray. Then transfer them to the freezer for about 15 minutes, and then to the fridge until you prepare the chocolate melts.
  3. Prepare the chocolate melts as instructed in the package. If you’re microwaving the melts, microwave in 15 sec bursts, while stirring each time, until most of it has melted. Using a spoon, stir to melt the remaining chocolate melts. If the chocolate is too thick, add some melted shortening or paramount crystals and stir until you have a good consistency.
  4. Let it rest for about 5 minutes until the melts have cooled down closer to room temperature.
  5. Remove the cake pops from the fridge. Dip the end of a cake pop stick in the melted chocolate and insert it in a cake pop (about halfway into the cake pop). Put it back on the baking tray and then repeat this with all the cake pops.
  6. Next, starting with the first cake pop, dip each one in the melted chocolate coating. If you can’t dip the whole cake pop in the melted chocolate, use another stick or spoon to cover it well. (So a narrow glass or cup is more suitable, so that the cake pop can be fully submerged in the coating).
  7. Once you have dipped a cake pop in the coating, gently tap the hand you’re holding the cake pop with, with your other hand to shake off excess coating. Stick this on a cake pop stand (or just a block of styrofoam) so that it can set. Repeat this will all the cake pops and let them all dry.
DEADPOOL MASK INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Take a small piece of black fondant and roll it out thinly (use cornstarch if it sticks to the surface). Choose a round cutter to cut out rounds – the cutter should be slightly smaller than the diameter or the height of your cake pops. Cut out a circle or two. When you’re working on fondant, make sure you cover the fondant pieces that you’re not using to prevent them from drying out.
  2. Cut out a thin strip from the middle of the black circle. Next, cut out two small segments from each of the half circles (as seen in the gif, they stick to the cake pop better this way).
  3. Take a small piece of white fondant and roll it into a small ball. Then flatten it into a circle and cut it in half – these are the eyes.
  4. Use water to stick these onto the black fondant pieces (as in the gif). Press it down gently.
  5. Apply a little water to the back of the black fondant piece and stick it on the front of the cake pops.
  6. Gently press it down along the edges to make sure it sticks well to the cake pops. Let it dry completely.
  7. To remove any cornstarch from the black fondant, use a small paint brush and brush the fondant pieces with vodka (this is optional). Let them dry.

Now, EAT UP!
