If you have a summer birthday, barbecue, or any event coming up . . . why not use those red, white and blue decorations and deck out your celebration with what you have on hand? Most of what you may have in your stash of stars and stripes patriotic decor can be pulled into a nautical party. Today I am sharing a roundup of five stunning nautical themed parties, but first stop by my Etsy shops below and see if any of my available red, white, and blue party decorations may be an ideal fit at your next nautical or beach themed party-

The crepe paper streamer table backdrop at this party is so easy to create. Just cut and hang in straight strips.

Anchors and sailboats are the dominate decor at this nautical first birthday party!

This is a great set up with lots of stripes and sand dollars and don’t forget the straws.  Don’t forget if you have some beach decor around the home, those make perfect props at a nautical party table- like the giant anchor, lifesaver, and lighthouse at this party above.

This ahoy party features great balloon styling!  Those columns of balloons flanking the table make a stunning statement.

Be sure to visit my Pinterest balloon board for more balloon diy ideas.

This adorable nautical baby shower in a “Welcome Aboard” theme in soft pastel blues is perfect for a little baby boy on the way!

Hope these nautical parties have inspired you to start planning your next event!

Brighten Up Your Outdoor Living Space

10 WAYS TO BRIGHTEN UP AN OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE

Hopefully all the spring rain has dried up where you live and you are ready to dust off the grill and get outdoors.  If you are like me, we spend most evenings out on our deck in the spring and summer and we host barbeques and parties quite a bit during the warmer season.  We grill almost every night and enjoy the backyard.  So, I really have a bright and cheerful outdoor living space and this year we added a heavy duty metal pergola cover with a canvas shade for added privacy and to keep it cooler in the summer heat. Today I want to share some ideas for bringing color to your outdoor living space to make it party-friendly and inviting.

1.)  Add some bright paper lanterns for a pop of color overhead and for lighting after dark.

2.) Bring in an unusual piece of furniture and use it in a unique way- like this sewing table converted into a plant stand. And paint all furniture a bright color! Now is the time to find curbside treasures that you can upcycle into something new for your outdoor living space!

3.) Flowers and plants are the easiest way to add color to your deck or patio. Add a flower box or fill up the corners of your area with varying heights and colors of flowers.

4.) Additional seating in the yard with multi colored chairs.  These adirondack chairs come in different colors at most home stores but you can also paint those cheap plastic chairs in different colors if you are on a budget.  Or old metal chairs are super easy to spiff up and paint.

5.) Use bright colors of rugs, pillows, and home decor accessories to decorate your outdoor living space.

6.) If hosting an outdoor party- add some whimsy to your event with yard art, garden sculptures or PINWHEELS are always loved by guests!

7.) Paint your backdoor a bright color.  This will freshen up your space and make your entrance to it inviting.  This can also be done with a connecting garage door or backyard shed door.

8.) Make your own patio furniture.  Use old tires painted a bright color to make a coffee table or large planter on your deck or patio.

9.) Add a water feature to your space. This creates ambience with a soothing sound and also can actually make your space cooler. Remember to keep it clean and keep bug repellent or citronella candles nearby. Water can attract bugs if not maintained.

10.) Finally, DIY your own bird bath.  I love this simple idea of purchasing inexpensive pots painted and turned upside down to create a cheerful bird bath that will surely attract birds, bees, and butterflies to your garden. Try it!

Thanks for stopping by Party Fetti today.  Now, get outside and decorate with color for your next event or barbeque!

Summer Party Ideas

PINK FLAMINGO ICE CREAM PARTY

Flamingo-DessertTable

Nothing says summer like pink flamingos, ice cream, and the pool.  And that is exactly what this Pink Flamingo Party is all about – summertime fun with an original and whimsical theme, styled for a little girl’s birthday. This colorful summer birthday pool party features a pastel pink and aqua blue color scheme.  A simple white bead and board batten back drop with a subtle aqua blue banner hanging over the dessert tablescape make the brighter blue candy and pink sweets really pop against the cleaner and simple background.   The pink gumdrops, lollipops, jelly beans, and so much more are laid out perfectly and offer little bit of everything!  And don’t forget the water.  All outdoor parties should have plenty of water for the kiddos to stay hydrated.  Love that cake too!  How clever to top it off with two pink flamingos.

IceCream-Favors

This party is well thought out and classy, yet light and fun, perfect for a little girl.  Rather than adding pink flamingos everywhere, instead the theme was kept subtle with custom personalized tops added to- of all things, ice cream containers! Perfect, since it is an ice cream party!

Flamingo-Invitations

The whole party color scheme was inspired by the pink flamingo birthday invitations.  The birthday invites are sophisticated and all the colors seen in the dessert and ice cream table were pulled from the invitation design.

Flamingo-IceCreamBar

And ice cream at a summer party is almost a given – a refreshing treat to keep the kids cool.  This ice cream bar is created with a colorful children’s chest, turned upside down! Yep, those fancy finials are the legs.  How original!  And it is just the right height for all the pint size guests to serve themselves.  The table set up is kept simple too for easy cleanup and to move everything out of the sun fast, after serving the ice cream treats to all the kids, before the ice cream melts.
Pink-LemonadeAnd don’t forget the adults too.   Add a little refreshing pre-mixed  pink cocktail for all the mom’s and dads attending.  They need to stay cool too. Alcohol is optional.

Be sure to stop by any of our shops for your summertime party decorations and favors!
