Vintage Tea Party Bridal Shower

Bridal Shower In Vintage Tea Party Theme

If you are planning a bridal shower in the near future- I have the perfect shower theme to inspire you.  The vintage tea party theme is trending right now for bridal showers.  It’s classic and sophisticated.  Plus all the ladies can dress up and you can encourage all the guests to wear a big hat for the shower. Make it a true soiree with requested dress attire – you could even provide a box of vintage found hats for the guests to wear.  Today, I am featuring some amazing tea party tablescapes.

This is a fairly easy bridal shower theme to put together.  To keep it under budget- ask around to see if you can borrow a family member’s vintage china or visit a thrift store and buy a mash up of old tea cups and saucers.  Yep, a mix and match of china is absolutely fine for this set up and would even look stunning. Add in some vintage mason jars and vintage or new decorative tea pots for your flower vases.

To get the look of the vintage tea party you will want plenty of flowers and most set ups feature fresh roses in light pink and white and accents of baby’s breath.

Although, you can still pull off the look with silk flowers as well.  This shower above features silks glued around a painted decorative wood picture frame and it looks just as beautiful as fresh flowers.  Add in some elements of gold with gold candlesticks or gold plated utensils and of course don’t forget to drape pearls here and there.

Lace is a must for this theme. Use it as bunting, for your tablecloth and even draped it across frames and as a table backdrop. If you can’t find vintage lace linens- there is no shortage of new table linens in lacy patterns and designs – you can even use curtains in sheer lace fabric.  Paper doilies on all your plates will look so shabby chic too.  Most tea parties feature a sweets table but I recommend offering some healthy options too- such as strawberries and raspberries.

Ask the bride for some old photos of herself and the groom, either growing up as kids or the two of them together, and use them at the event.  Black and white is best (color photos can be professionally transitioned to black and white- or you can even photocopy color photos in black and white) and they can be added to picture frames or even hang them up as a bunting.

One last tip for the shower- bring in a bit of violet color in your flowers or shower decor.  This year’s color pick by Pantone is Ultra Violet and the tea party theme is perfect for adding in this shade of color. Be sure to spend some time asking the bride about her likes and dislikes for food and decor as well.  Add in a personal touch and surprise her.  Maybe she loves daisies or strawberry shortcake and would love that you remembered this and included it at her shower.

Come back next week to the The Party Fetti website – I will be featuring big balloons for weddings and for amazing photo shoot ideas!

Valentine’s Day Mini Cards

VALENTINE MINI HEART CARDS

Last week I featured these cards, along with some other easy Valentine’s Day craft projects, and today I am sharing how to make them.

If you missed last week’s easy and quick Valentine’s Day projects,  which included these adorable butterfly Smarties, you can see all the projects – HERE

Today’s project for the Valentine cards are perfect for making with the kids for a classroom card exchange since they are mini size and will fit in the kid’s card boxes.  They are also fun to decorate with embellishments and stickers or stamp Valentine sentiments on the mini cards.

All that is needed for your supplies is cardstock paper in your choice of colors, red and pink of course for Valentine’s Day, a die cutting machine (Sizzix Big Shot or the Cricut Cuddlebug are the two I use) and the metal die for cutting these designs is We R Memory Keepers Quickutz Mini Valentine Cookie Cutter Die available – HERE

The set comes as two dies and the mini rectangular square die can be cut in white cardstock or light pink for your card inserts.

First cut all your cards and envelopes and decorated your cards, you could also purchase store bought mini Valentine’s cards and slip them inside, if you don’t want to hand make your cards.

Next you will want to cut all your heart envelopes and then you are ready to assemble.

Once your mini cards are placed in the middle of your cut envelopes, simply fold the two hearts together in the center (the die even perforates your fold lines for you) and lock your hearts together with the pre-cut slits.

Next you can decorate your outside envelopes with even more and bigger hearts layered over your smaller hearts and cut down the middle for opening, like this –

These can also be placed on top of Valentine gift boxes –

So there you have it, easy Valentine cards to make with the kids.

Fall Boho Bridal Shower

FALL BOHEMIAN BRIDAL SHOWER

Although the autumn weather is getting crisp, its not too late to host an outdoor gathering, as long as you still have mild temperatures in your area.  Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and mild weather while the sun is still shining and before we all have to head indoors for the colder weather coming soon.

Whatever theme you are planning for your soon to be married friend’s bridal shower, be sure to know her taste and style.  A good indicator of this can be found in her home decor or maybe you were old college room mates – so her dorm decor would be a good direction to play off of for helping to plan the bridal shower.  Also, determine her favorite colors and fashion style.  Remember, the bridal shower should be stress free and a celebration of her – so don’t approach the engaged friend with everything about the up coming shower.  Ask basic questions about her dream wedding and favorite colors, without her feeling as though she is having to plan the event for you.

Be sure to stop by the I DO WEDDING & BRIDAL DESIGNS shop for all your bridal shower decorations and to start planning your bridal shower!

This outdoor bridal shower features a soft pastel color scheme mixed with traditional autumn colors or orange, maroon, and tan.  The soft pink and lavender rose style flowers play off the fall colors and pumpkins for a stunning mix of colors.

Adding in a few BOHO or bohemian elements, such as the dream catcher and cattle skull adds to the unusual theme, yet this still works for stylish trendy bridal shower and all these elements compliment the outdoor setting.

A backdrop or background, such as this jute rope curtain, is always a great starting place for planning any celebration.  Once you have determined this main focal point for the event – all other elements for the shower can begin to compliment the backdrop and build off of it.  This backdrop featured above is perfect for an outdoor event because it divides the seating and food serving area, yet still allows for the guests to fully appreciate the outdoor surroundings since it is essentially transparent.

Food is as important as the bridal shower decorations.  Feature your bride’s favorite food- maybe it is cake, pie, cupcakes or cookies.  Or maybe she does not even have a sweet tooth?  There is no rule that sweets must be served at a bridal shower.  Be creative and find out the food she loves and just to be on the safe side, find out what she does not like to eat as well.

Add an element of light, fire, or candlelight too.  If it is still warm for your outdoor shower, that inevitable means bugs- so consider placing citronella candles around the outdoor area and keep your food covered until ready to serve.

Include some natural elements that coordinate to your theme, such as fresh flowers, or for this featured fall baby shower, large and small pumpkins and gourds are tucked in behind the signage and elsewhere to pull in the fall colors and accents from nature.

Finally, make serving the food easy and placed all in one area, like this rolling food cart that is easy to set up inside and then simply roll it outdoors.  Rather than making many trips in and out to bring the food out, putting it all on a cart can make for fewer trips.  Plus, its a trendy and stylish set up, as bar carts are now so affordable, such as this – [easyazon_link identifier=”B01KBKQHRS” locale=”US” tag=”ymazonffiliac-20″]BAR CART[/easyazon_link] that can be ordered online.

I hope these bridal shower tips were helpful and this outdoor BOHO fall themed bridal shower have inspired you to start planning your upcoming celebration of marriage.
