Party Table Backdrops & Backgrounds

PARTY TABLE BACKDROPS AND BACKGROUNDS

Today is a roundup of inspiration for party table backdrops and backgrounds.  These tablescapes should give you some ideas for setting up your dessert or food table at your next party. Let’s get started with this adorable ladybug party.  How creative are those honeycomb balls with added punched black paper circles made into the ladybug head and antennae and the ladybug spots.  So cute!  Ladybugs are a perfect theme for a summer party too!

This background is a giant printed graphic poster just added to an even larger fabric covered board. I love this idea, but the printing cost may get a little pricey.  Another alternative that would cost less is the fabric covered board below with a small framed birthday sign or letter banner centered in the middle.

I love that they used part of the green vinyl tablecloth as a valance topper at the top of the fabric background. The polka dot balloons in a small bouquet create a balanced height at each side too.

Confetti balloons are all the rage- and just two flanking the back sides of each end of the table create a stunning background with height!  The added floor length balloon tissue tassel garland add a finishing touch.

This bride has simple giant white balloons arranged in an arch with added greenery and florals for a beautiful, yet neutral, photo background.

Paper fans on the wall are always an easy go-to for a party table background- but they can be dressed up with custom cut designs available in The Party Fetti Shop.

A mix of all sizes of pinwheels are so whimsical and super easy to create a party table background.  So easy to create this random arrangement on the wall. Create your own with pinwheels from Pinwheel Pretties.

Last are two entirely simple diy backdrops made with crepe paper streamers.  The added tissue fan above, for the sun, is adorable.  The rainbow streamer backdrop below is so easy too! Seven bright strips of crepe streamer taped to the back of the wall and simply run across the top and front of a basic white tablecloth- would take five minutes to make and so inexpensive.  The top could feature small white balloons or use my cloud tutorial from a previous blog post for  making your own cloud topper.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  I hope these party backdrops have inspired you to start planning your next party!

Party Trend For 2017- Unicorn Parties

PARTY TREND FOR 2017 – UNICORN PARTIES

In case you have not noticed, unicorn themed parties are hugely popular right now.  I recently shared some amazing unicorn cakes on my blog and today I wanted to share some party tables and decorations in this theme.  First, the color scheme can be any shades you want- although bright rainbows are most common, this color scheme shown above utilizes more of a pastel rainbow color mix.  The soft tissue flower frame backdrop is stunning- it really makes a statement at this two year old’s birthday party and adds so much height to the dessert table.  I offer some diy paper flowers in my craft shop so you can create a similar tablescape.

Here is another framed tissue flower backdrop at a unicorn party.  I love the more soft subtle color scheme and the simple decor on this buffet really stands out.  Pinks and golds are trendy and fit in for this theme but a rainbow color scheme is perfect too.

This outdoor party features a designer unicorn cake front and center and a mint green and soft pink color pallette with a touch of gold decor.

I think some unicorn pinwheels would have added an extra touch at the party above!

This unicorn birthday party for Emma has it all with candy and a designer unicorn cake and the bright rainbow decorations.

Finally, this last unicorn party looks like it might have been at the Vatican for the pope!  Actually, its just a simple Venetian living room  . . . not really, its anything but simple! While it appears over the top with all the gold, embellished walls, intricate carved table and flanked with elegant floral arrangements – its classic yet still sweet and whimsical.

So whatever your color scheme or style- consider a unicorn party this year!

Pinterest Hack – DIY Foam Hand Soap

DIY FOAM HAND SOAP

Pinterest Hacks Fail Or FortuneImage

It’s time for another Pinterest hack!

This is my monthly trial of a DIY, craft, or other ‘to-good-to-be-true’ home project that is popular on Pinterest.  It’s my way of sharing with my followers if a pin on Pinterest is a fail or fortune.

March is all about spring and spring cleaning.  So I am sharing this Pinterest hack to make your own foaming hand soap at home and save you money.  I won’t make you wait until the end of the trial to find out- this DIY is a WIN – or a fortune . . . or rather, it will save you a FORTUNE.  Yes, it works.  I have actually been doing this for almost two years and have not purchased expensive foaming hand soap since 2014.  Actually, I haven’t had to purchase my cheap hand soap to make the foaming soap for over a year now.

Here’s the HOW TO-

MAKE YOUR OWN FOAMING HAND SOAP & SAVE MONEY

AFoamSoap3

This is the best Pinterest hack I have found that actually works!

A RECIPE FOR MAKING YOUR OWN FOAMING HAND SOAP

If you have several bathrooms in your house and children, this is a tried and true money saver. Plus, it is incredibly simple to make.  Not to mention, I love the foaming soap- but not the price tag to buy new replacement pumps full of soap.  They run $5 to $7 each retail at most places!

Instead I now have a few of those cool shaped Bath & Body Works pumps with fancy flower images on them and just refill every pump at each sink in our house every month or so.  In fact most of the time they last for up to two months or longer.

This saving tip really works because the foaming pump injects a blast of air into a small amount of soap as it pumps.

Here is how to make your own foaming soap in 2 EASY STEPS-

STEP 1:

First, buy or use soap you have around the house.  I use a generic brand that comes in an XL refill container and only runs me about $4 at my local grocery store.

It is best to use a clear gel that is not too thick or gooey.  Liquid bath soap will work too.

Fill the pump container with about an inch of the gel liquid soap, then slowly add cold water up to about an inch from the top (to prevent overflow when the pump is inserted).

Tip: Add the water SLOWLY, so as not to agitate the soap too much –  because if it mixes while you are adding the water, it may overflow, with suds everywhere, when inserting the pump back on the top.

STEP 2:

Mix but do NOT shake.  Simply turn (gently and slowly) the filled pump upside down and right side up a few times and side to side.

Tip: Turning slowly back and forth is best and once or twice upside down. If you shake the pump the contents will become too bubbly and the air pump will not work properly.

TADA!  Now you are ready to wash up and you are using less soap and wasting less plastic!
