Front Entry Party Decorating

FRONT ENTRANCE DECORATING IDEAS

We all know how much we love to decorate our exterior home entrance for the holidays, especially for Halloween, Christmas and for Easter – this entry above is stunningly arranged with flowers and Easter decor for a welcoming spring front door.

What about for a birthday party? Why not welcome your guests to the home party or summer barbecue with some color and signage.  Today I am sharing some ideas for getting your front door and exterior entrance ready for your spring or summer party, holiday celebration or even just a backyard barbecue.

This cheerful balloon wreath is ideal for greeting guests for a first birthday!

Last year I added some fun custom made to order signs to my shop just for hanging on the front door to greet party guests – but these are great on wood poles or hanging on the side fence for backyard parties too-

If you are planning a party, add some colorful decor to your front entrance, even something as basic as a hanging sign or a birthday wreath on the door, can help guests find your home and the party!

I personally love some helium inflated colorful balloons, flanking the door, like this set up above. Balloons are an inexpensive way to decorate and just a few will go far with making a statement at your front entry.

Even this very humble set up of only three balloons tied to some wood cut and painted O-N-E letters for a first birthday makes for a grand entrance.  Confetti balloons are trendy right now too and would make the prefect entrance, with two big over-sized giant 24″ or 36″ size balloons flanking the front door! These big balloons are visible from the street and definitely help guests know they are in the right place for the party.

Of course, if you have the means and really want to impress your guests – why not go all out like this party above or with many more balloons, similar to the balloon entrance below-

A fun sign at the end of your driveway or sidewalk to your entrance are also ideal for directional signage and to help guests locate your house for the party.

I love these two clever signs, above for the Pirate themed party and the Dr. Seuss handmade sign for a first birthday party, shown below.

Whatever theme or type of party you are throwing at your home this spring and summer- be sure to decorate your front entrance with some color or signage to welcome your guests as the come through your home’s front door.

PARTY DECORATIONS ON DISPLAY AT THE PARTY

I always love to see my reader’s and Etsy shop buyer’s party decorations purchased from my shops on display! Today I am sharing a few of their photos at their parties and baby showers that they have shared with me! I love the hanging fans display for a baby shower above! Congrats on the new little girl!

Keep in mind that I am now in full swing for wedding and party season, which is generally my busiest time of year in the spring and summer, so you may not see as many updates and new posts throughout the coming months here on the blog.  I promise I will try to inspire and share some amazing ideas when I can, but expect about a week in between the updates until next September.  I wish I had more time in the day to get it all done!

Now for some amazing party inspiration from my very own shoppers!

This rainbow party is so fun and colorful!  The background was created with 30 of my rainbow hanging tissue fans.

Above is a party featuring my 36 inch size balloons with balloon tissue tassels and a background with my tissue tassel garland. Below is a birthday tea party with my smaller 24 inch confetti balloons in the pastel confetti mix!

Here is a Kite and Pinwheel Birthday party featuring a kite banner (simplified) and custom made pinwheels.  Perfect for a March party!  Check out all my available banners in my shop- HERE

Come back in a week and I’ll share an easy diy party table background tutorial to create on a budget! You’ll love it, its that simple and so cheap to put together!

Until then. . . be sure to stop by any of my Etsy shops, by clicking on the links below, for some wonderful Easter or spring decor and for all your party decorating needs-

Christmas Party Ideas

CHRISTMAS PARTY IDEAS & WINTER CUPCAKE RECIPE

Christmas Party Table

Did you survive the Black Friday sales?  I don’t know about you – but I ignored my cell phone and tablet for much of the Thanksgiving weekend to spend time with friends and loved ones over the holiday and to focus on what is important.  So, this morning I opened my email in-box to find over 80 plus sales and marketing emails from the weekend. Ugh!

It was a bit excessive to say the least and annoying! Delete, delete, delete!  I really wish retailers would recognize the difference between successful email marketing and spam, because, even if you do opt in for a retailer’s marketing emails. . .  too much – IS SPAM!

spam black Friday emails

Seriously, some of these online retail websites emailed me 6 times in one day- and on Thanksgiving?? All in an effort to promote the Black Friday sales.  I have unsubscribed to several email lists, as of this morning.

I promise to offer some holiday inspiration over the next few weeks, instead of a  “buy this, sale, shop now, hurry before the sale ends!”, type blog posts.   I know how stressful the holidays can be as it is- so I want to inspire you this Christmas, offer some quick diy projects, decorating tips, and holiday recipes here at the Party Fetti blog to make it more enjoyable and not use my blog solely as a marketing platform.  Although I do email my subscribers with a sale promo about once every two to three months, in addition to my regular blog posts here – generally with links to my Etsy shops at the end of many of my posts , such as today’s post- still, my priority is to help you to throw the best celebration!  I started this blog to inspire my followers to offer tips for party and holiday decorating and I will continue to offer plenty of holiday ideas over the next few weeks.

So, let’s get to it!  Below I am sharing a quick recipe for Snowball Mini Cupcakes – scroll down for the recipe.

However, first, here are a few quick decorating tips for a Christmas party or for any winter event or winter birthday party-

Onederland Party

Use what you have! Pull items from your Christmas decorations, such as feather trees, snowflake ornaments, large glass containers, and a simple cupcake stand, like this set up shown above, for a 1st birthday as a Winter Onederland party.  Love the pink for the little girl too!

Winter Birthday Party

Set up a wintry scene with fake snow, white trees, pine cones, and snowmen.

This works for an adult holiday party or for a children’s birthday party.  A color palette of white, grey, silver, and blue ties it all together – but don’t be afraid to go with pinks and neon colors for a more contemporary winter color scheme!   Cover all your candy and wine bottles (or soda bottles for the kids) with coordinating printable labels.  You can find many complete printable party kits on Etsy – if you are a diy’er and don’t mind a few hours of cutting with scissors- this is a huge money saver for any party.  You just need a good quality home color printer.  A straight cutter (a paper cutting tool that many scrapbookers use) will save you time on the cutting too.

Wine Labels

Be creative with your signage and use a play on words, like this clever party sign below, and so easy to print and frame-

If you don’t have hours to cook- that is Okay! Get creative with your packaging of store bought foods, like these labeled and packaged marshmallows for a hot cocoa bar –

Now for the Snowball Mini Cupcakes Recipe

Cupcake Recipe

Ingredients:
  1. 1 (15.25-ounce) box devil’s food cake mix
  2. 1 cup whole milk
  3. 1⁄2 cup vegetable oil
  4. 3 large eggs
  5. 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  6. 1 (3.4-ounce) box vanilla instant pudding mix
  7. 1 cup chopped flaked coconut
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Spray 2 (24-cup) mini muffin pans with baking spray with flour.
  2. In a large bowl, beat cake mix, milk, oil, and eggs with a mixer at medium speed until moistened, about 2 minutes. Divide batter among prepared muffin cups. Bake until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 12 minutes. Let cool in pans for 5 minutes. Remove from pans, and let cool completely on a wire rack.
  3. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat cream and pudding mix at high speed until fluffy. Spoon mixture into a piping bag fitted with a small round tip.
  4. Make a small incision in the bottom of cupcakes, and pipe 1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla mixture into centers. Pipe vanilla mixture over tops of cupcakes; sprinkle with coconut. Serve immediately.
